University Health PhysiciansSince its inception in 1972, University Health Physicians is organized for the following medical, charitable, scientific and educational purposes:

· To provide for the medically indigent and other individuals who are in need of health care;
· To promote, conduct and administer programs in mental health, maternal and infant care, family planning, communicable disease control, community health, accident prevention, rehabilitation, home care and other areas affecting health;
· To teach, instruct, promote and encourage disciplines involving any of the above by use of training, research and educational programs, courses of instruction and any other means;
· To employ, maintain and retain physicians, surgeons, dentists, osteopathic physicians and surgeons, and other educators and support personnel as staff for hospitals and other healthcare facilities, as faculty for medical and dental schools and for related activities; and
· To do and perform any other activity which promotes physical and mental health and to support and conduct any and all activities connected with the operation of hospitals, other healthcare facilities, and educational institutions and any charitable, scientific or educational activities in any manner related thereto.

Emergency Medicine Faculty Position

University Physician Associates, the physician group practice for Truman Medical Centers, is recruiting faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.   • Graduate of an accredited medical school.

Psychiatrist – Outpatient Services

Founded in 1972, University Health Physicians (UHP) has a long history of providing quality healthcare for Kansas City. Since its inception, UPA has grown to include over 150 medical staff doctors. As a private not-for-profit corporation we employ the medical staff faculty for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. Our multi-specialty doctors provide patient care at the primary teaching hospitals and their clinics. The UPA administrative staff provides group practice management activities including billing and reimbursement services.

University Health Physicians and Truman Medical Centers are currently seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our medical staff in providing psychiatric services in an outpatient setting.

This position will work as leader of a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychiatry residents, psychologists, social workers and therapists. Other duties will include: paid call with residents on the consult liaison service or inpatient mental health unit and teaching of psychiatry residents and medical students. Participation in hospital-based committees and providing lectures to other medical specialties is encouraged.

The qualified candidate will have graduated from an accredited medical school, and completed a residency in Psychiatry.
